Santa’s Truck Visit & Christmas Carols
Ballyboughal is in for a magical mid-week treat as the Santa Truck makes a special flying visit through the village on Thursday, December 12th at 6pm. Residents young and old are encouraged to come out, wave hello, and give a warm Ballyboughal welcome to Santa and Mrs. Claus as they pass through.
Ballyboughal Christmas Craft Fair
Ballyboughal is hosting its very first Christmas Craft Fair on Friday, December 13th, and everyone is invited to come along and support our local makers. The event will take place across St. Patrick’s Hall and the Community Hub, with a wonderful selection of stalls showcasing items created by talented people from the village and surrounding areas.
Ballyboughal Community Choir Christmas Carol Service
On Wednesday, December 17th, Ballyboughal Community Choir will host a festive Christmas Carol Service at Ballyboughal Church. This much-loved community event brings everyone together for a beautiful evening of traditional carols, heartfelt music, and festive reflection.
Local Hero Paddy White 5km / 3km Fundraiser Race
As part of Fingal’s Inclusion week, Ballyboughal is coming together for a very special 5km fundraiser for Down Syndrome Ireland — an event that not only supports our community but also honours one of our village’s greatest sporting figures: Pat White of Richardstown, a remarkable athlete who ranked 2nd on the World Marathon List in 1911. Website Launch & Open Drop in Session
The bulb planting will be followed by a Ballyboughal Community Council open drop-in session at the Community Hub from 1:00 to 2:00pm, where local residents are invited to join us for coffee and a chat. From 2:00 to 3:00pm, we’ll celebrate the launch of our new Ballyboughal Community Website — a new online space to keep everyone connected with local news, events, and community projects.
Abstract Art Class with Amy
Join us tomorrow, Saturday, from 1–3pm at the Ballyboughal Community Hub for a free Abstract Art Class, inspired by the bold, expressive style of Amy Sillman.
Spring Bulb Planting
Ballyboughal Tidy Towns invites everyone to join us on Main Street for a special Spring Bulb Planting as part of Fingal Inclusion Week. This is a great chance to come together as a community, meet neighbours, and help brighten our village for the year ahead.
Town Centre First Plan
Fingal County Council, together with local residents and community groups, will officially launch the Ballyboughal Town Team at The Community Hub and unveil our Town Centre First Plan on November 11th. This plan will help shape the future of our village — improving amenities, supporting local life, and celebrating what makes Ballyboughal unique. Halloween Zombie Parade
Get ready for a spine-chilling night as Ballyboughal comes alive with the annual Zombie Parade! Join hundreds of ghouls, ghosts, and the walking dead for a Halloween night to remember. They’re coming… the zombies are taking over Ballyboughal! Grab your spookiest zombie gear – from babies to grannies – and join the march through the village. Prizes for Best Dressed Zombies. Dark Autumn Screening
Dark Autumn, is a compelling docudrama based on the true and harrowing events of the Sack of Balbriggan in 1920. The film takes you through the tense moments leading up to and during this infamous chapter in Irish history. Join us at the Hub. Admission €5.

Howth Maritime & Seafood Festival
Get ready for a splash of excitement at this year’s festival as Howth Sea Angling Club reels you in with activities for all ages!
🌊 Sea Life Display – See crabs, lobsters, and other fascinating local sea creatures up close in our giant aquariums. All caught by our members in the days before the event, cared for in aerated tanks, and safely returned to the sea afterwards.

Ballyboughal River Biodiversity Walk
The walk will take place in the river flood plains and rich meadows around Ballyboughal and will concentrate on the ecological importance and conservation alike of these habitats. Attendees will learn about the complex interplay between plants and pollinators, the importance of of grasses and other larval food plants of butterflies and the habitats of birds , amphibians and other invertebrates.
Swords Castle Food Market
The Swords Castle Food Market in the medieval Castle grounds began last April and has quickly become a firm favourite on everybody’s calendar. It takes place on the third Saturday of each month.
Rush Festival Sand Castle Competition
A family-friendly sandcastle contest at Rush Harbour, with buckets and spades provided.
