Ballyboughal’s annual Summer Heritage Festival is a vibrant celebration of local identity, bringing the entire community together on the village green every June 21st. With a delightful blend of heritage and fun, the event features:

  • Heritage exhibits showcasing Ballyboughal’s rich past—local GAA memorabilia, displays on the medieval church and monastic traditions, and tales linked to the Bachal Isu legacy foira1916.

  • Traditional and contemporary music, engaging all ages with live performances, dance, and a distinctly Irish atmosphere.

  • Family-friendly activities, including games, crafts, and storytelling sessions that enchant both young and old.

What’s On: Highlights for Families & Kids

    The Parade

    Each year, the Ballyboughal Heritage Festival kicks off in style with a vibrant opening parade down Main Street Bridge — a joyful procession that weaves through the heart of the village before arriving at St Patrick’s Hall, where a heritage exhibition. This spirited parade brings together community groups, local musicians, colourful banners, and enthusiastic performers—setting the tone for the afternoon’s celebrations.

    Music & Dancing

DJ Dave keeps the party going with a vibrant mix of crowd favourites, creating an open-air dance floor where all ages come together to celebrate.
